I am a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the Department of Interactive Media, School of Communication, Hong Kong Baptist University. Previously I worked as an RGC Postdoctoral Fellow at the Division of Arts and Machine Creativity, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK). I obtained my PhD degree from CityUHK, under the supervision of Prof. Hongbo Fu. I received a BA in communication and a minor in computer science and technology from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), with Guo Moruo Scholarship honored.
Research
My research interests lie at the intersection of technical and empirical Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Graphics (CG), and Communication & Media Studies, with a focus on content creation and interaction design with emerging technologies such as Generative AI and AR/VR. My work spans various practical and creative applications including 3D sketching, animation creation, game design and development, cultural heritage preservation, creativity support, and artistic expression. My recent research explores:
- Novel interactive techniques, tools, and systems with GenAI and AR/VR
- How people utilize GenAI and LLMs in domain-specific creative applications
- Technology-assisted artistic practice and creative works
I am actively looking for self-motivated PhD/Mphil students, research assistants, student helpers, and visiting students to join my group. Please refer to Group page for more details.
